About Us

The Ralston Fire Department was organized in 1932 by several local residents and businessmen. Since that time the department has grown into a corporation. The city of Ralston contracts with Ralston Fire & Rescue Inc. to provide fire suppression and advanced life support EMS. The department also provides fire protection to Douglas County Suburban Fire Protection District #4, and has an automatic mutual-aid agreement with the La Vista Fire Department in Sarpy County. The Ralston Fire Department operates out of one station and protects a primarily suburban area. The first due area includes over 6300 residents living in an area of 1 square mile. Ralston is located in southern Douglas County and surrounded by Omaha on three sides. In 2011, our busiest year to date, we responded to 932 calls for service.
